Podar Eduspace hosted a seminar for young students and recent Graduates titled ‘Kick start your Job Campaign’ which was held at St Pauls Institute of Communication Education, Mumbai. The event included a panel of eminent speakers from across various domains of the industry, which included Banking & Finance, Journalism, Consulting, Skill Development and Education who shared their knowledge and experience with participants on how to make a mark in the competitive job market and the workplace. Podar Eduspace’s Premium Partner Greenville College (USA) launches the ‘Rajiv Podar Scholarship’

Greenville College, USA launched the ‘Rajiv Podar Scholarship’ for deserving Indian students who wish to pursue their further studies at Greenville. The scholarship is worth $15,000 per annum and is based on merit and it recognizes the academic achievement and potential of students who, through sharing their varied international (Indian) cultural perspectives, will enhance the education of all Greenville College students and the excellence of the institution.
The scholarship was formally announced during Mr. Rajiv Podar’s visit to Greenville College where he also had the opportunity to address and interact with both their faculty and students.

Richmond University is a private liberal arts college based in London which was established in 1972 and has a dual degree system with students graduating with both an American as well as a British degree equivalent at the end of their degree program. Richmond also offers a global perspective at a campus which represents over a 100 different nationalities.

Podar Eduspace Director attended an event at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) with speaker Peter Thiel which revolved around his new book, ‘Zero to One Notes on Start Ups, or How to Build the Future’. Peter Thiel is an entrepreneur and investor, he co-founded PayPal and the data analytics firm Palantir Technologies. He also made the first outside investment in Facebook, funded companies like SpaceX and LinkedIn, and started the Thiel Foundation, which nurtures tomorrow’s tech visionaries through programs such as the Thiel Fellowship and Breakout Labs. During the event, Peter Thiel discussed his vision on start ups and high growth industrial sectors such as Education. Vedica also had a chance to meet Peter Thiel personally and get him to sign a copy of his latest book.

While at the Cricket Australia office, Vedica also had a chance to meet Australia’s women’s team (the Southern Stars) star player, Meg Lanning.

He has also written a book called ‘Scores on the Board’ and released a DVD called ‘Winning the Career you Deserve’ with tips for freshers in the job market. Podar Eduspace Director, Ms Vedica Podar delivered a talk about Entrepreneurship & Ideation at Richmond University to encourage students at the university to consider becoming entrepreneurs in March 2013. This talk was aimed to help students understand the essence of entrepreneurship and then understand the basis of entrepreneurial activities, i.e. the Ideation process. The talk also spoke about how students can generate their own business ideas through methods such as Problem Identification & Matrix Mapping.

The focus of this seminar was Student and Graduate Entrepreneurship in Colleges and Universities. Topics discussed at the forum included a review of entrepreneurship in the UK, what lies ahead in this domain and ways to encourage and support young entrepreneurs in the country. The conference was attended by many distinguished guests including members of Parliament, representatives of Universities and organisations to encourage the spirit of Entrepreneurship. At this event, Podar Eduspace Director, Ms Vedica Podar met with many of these representatives from Government bodies & notable Universities and colleges from across the UK.

Young Scholars Inc proudly announces the launch of its own Portal which will allow students to register, enrol for projects, work on their projects and interact with their mentors. This comprehensive platform has been well designed and produced to be a very user friendly tool considering students will be using it. The portal will track the progress made by the students and will provide privacy by generating individual login name and password.

Podar Eduspace Director, Ms Vedica Podar attended the Sparks 3.0 Conference at the prestigious London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). Sparks@LSE is in its 3rd year and it is the largest and most interactive student run entrepreneurship conference throughout London. The conference was held on the 25th of March in the Sheikh Zayed Theater in the New Academic Building of the LSE.
The event was attended by over 200 delegates and had high profile speakers such as Founders and top officials from many well known businesses such as YPlan, Wonga.com, MetroBank, Tech City UK and many others. Miss Podar met and interacted with many of these delegates and spoke to them about the Podar Eduspace programs. Young Scholars Inc recently completed a research paper for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) in India – this paper was then used by Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. This paper was based on the Sports Education and Training market in India and was accepted and well received by Deakin University
Ms. Ravneet Pawha, Country Director (India) said that ‘Deakin University recognizes and appreciates the research work by the Podar Eduspace on Assessment of opportunities in Sports Education & Training in India. The report is comprehensive and will be useful for academic institutions and policy makers. The Duke of York, HRH Prince Andrew held a reception at Buckingham Palace on February 25th promoting the new Start-Up Loans initiative to boost youth entrepreneurship in the UK. Start-Up Loans is James Caan’s government-backed programme that empowers young entrepreneurs by providing funding and expert advice to help grow their businesses.
Podar Eduspace Director, Ms Vedica Podar was one of the young entrepreneurs who was invited to the event. The prestigious event was held at the Ballroom of the Buckingham Palace and was attended by around 120 delegates, including government officials, media personnel and student representatives and officials from universities from around the United Kingdom.
When asked about the event, Vedica said, “I think today’s younger generation are the business leaders of tomorrow and in this digital age, there are so many new opportunities out there waiting to be explored. Financial assistance and mentorship are two things which are really essential for the success of any start-up. In my own case, I found the guidance and advice I got from many well wishers from around the world particularly helpful.”

Young Scholars Inc Founder, Ms Vedica Podar & Business Development Manager, Ms Manisha Sagar gave a lecture and presentation at Richmond University in February. This event was organised by the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES) and the aim was to let students know of the work being done by Young Scholars Inc and how they can participate in these programs while continuing their studies. Sir Cyril Taylor is a well known name in the field of education – Sir Cyril Taylor is the Founder and Chairman of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) which he founded in 1964. Sir Cyril also serves as Chancellor and Founder of Richmond, The American International University in London. A 3 Member delegation of Richmond, The American International University in London (RAIUL) visited Mumbai in October 2012. Richmond, The American International University in London, is an independent, not-for-profit, international, liberal arts and professional studies university established in 1972.A Richmond education offers a global perspective at a campus which represents over a 100 different nationalities.
The delegation consisted of Prof John Annette – the President, Prof Parviz Dabir Alai – Head of Department – Business & Economics and Ms Karen Lippoldt – Director of Alumni Relations.

Carlos Restituyo, a student from Dominican Republic currently studying at Richmond, The American International University in London, was presented his certificate in September 2012 for successfully completing his research project in the Books2Biz program. Ms Vedica Podar – Podar Eduspace Director along with Mr. Rajiv Podar – Director of FDIL, visited Macquarie University (Sydney) in August 2012. Macquarie University will soon be one of Australia’s leading research universities. To reach this goal they are investing heavily in research, learning and teaching, new buildings, new teaching facilities and in developing mutually beneficial relationships with industry. Macquarie is home to some of the world’s most pre-eminent researchers as well.
